GOODCHILD, THOMAS SCOTT (1950-2022)
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our Sawmill Prime Rib & Steakhouse founding President, Tom Goodchild, on Wednesday June 29, 2022.
Tom was loved and respected by his family, friends, team members and business community and it cannot be put into words the sudden loss that will be felt by his passing. Tom was a true hospitalitarian and wore his Company brand and industry passion on his shirt sleeve daily.
For all of us who were blessed by knowing Tom and his lifelong commitment to the foodservice industry, the Goodchild family is dedicated and will continue to operate growing on that dream Tom envisioned 46 years ago.

Tom Goodchild Memorial Bursary
As a tribute to Tom Goodchild and his lifelong dedication to the foodservice and hospitality industry the Sawmill Restaurant Group have established an annual bursary for NAIT’s Department of Culinary Arts and Professional Food Studies which is one of the most respected culinary and hospitality schools in Canada.
Our goal is to raise $25,000.00 and with that his bursary will continue forever.
